QBC OVERSEAS MISSIONS

Our missions philosophy flows from the third leg of our vision: “impacting our community and beyond for Christ.”

This is understood along the lines of the Lausanne Covenant statement, “the whole church taking the whole gospel to the whole world.”

The role of individual believers in their workplaces and communities in carrying out the Missio Dei.

There should be no divide between evangelism (i.e. personal conversion) and the social gospel (i.e. addressing social issues). Salvation is not merely about how individuals can escape eternal punishment. It is holistic and includes reconciliation with God and with each other, being restored to the image of God, and being redeemed from sin in all its various forms, both individual and systemic.

The whole world includes all humans in every geographical location, their different worldviews, all aspects of creation – political and economic structures, the cyberworld, the marketplace and the public square and so on, as well as the physical and non-human creation.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20
